In 'this week's web design' I have a collection with 10 websites worth mentioning. I look to the design, the used technique and the idea behind a website. Recently I started adding HTML5 & CSS3 websites as well, mostly they'll work on all browsers, but if you use Internet Explorer as main browser, sometimes you won't see everything.

In our infographic series we publish well designed infographics which succeed in delivering a message. Today I have one about the Big Mac Index... Coined 'Burgernomics', the Bic Mac Index has become a global standard of determing purchasing power between two currencies by comparing the cost of the McDonald's burger in any two countries. For example: a Big Mac costs $4.07 in the U.S. compared to $2.27 in China. The burger is 44% cheaper in China, which suggests the yuan is 44% undervalued against the dollar...

Almost two months ago I published a very funny and inspiring project called Grandmother Tips, made by Chacho Puebla a designer from Madrid, Spain. Last week it came to my attention that MarKts Covert made a more positive point of view of the grandmother tips and called it 'Techy Little Nephew Tips'. If you hover the photos in this post you will see the original grandmother photos, so you know what MarKts was referring to...

A few months ago I started the user interface series, which I will continue with at least one post a week. In close collaboration with Infomotor Martin Oberhäuser, a designer from Hamburg, Germany, developed the User Interface design for the new (browser based) business software Tickr. Tickr makes it fast and easy to consume all kinds of business information - as it happens.

In todays photography post I have an inspiring series of Alice in Wonderland photos by Vilma Costa, a photographer from Lisboa, Portugal. The best thing about these photos for me is the lighting and composition. Through the whole set it gives a special feeling to the photos, which makes this one of the best Alice in Wonderland sets I've seen.

The Creature is an awesome photo project Mademoiselle Borcher, a creative mind from Copenhagen, Denmark, did with fiction photographer Maria Lomholdt & choreograper Vibeke Muasya a little while ago. The FAB make-up & hair is from Kenneth Holm Godskesen. This project is a visual story devided in several chapters. Today I have the first three chapters of this story. Enjoy!

In this weekly series I show you a selection with creative advertisement prints for a brand, a company, from a country or with a special theme. Today I have a selection with creative ads for Absolute Vodka, a brand of vodka, produced near Åhus, Skåne, in southern Sweden. Absolut is owned by french group Pernod Ricard. They bought Absolut for 5.63 billion Euros in 2008 from the Swedish state. Absolut is the largest brand of alcoholic spirits in the world before Bacardi and Smirnoff, and is sold in 126 countries...
